Automated pick and place system for manufacturing applications
Overview
The purpose of this design project is to create an advanced conceptual design for a desktop pick and place machine. This is to be in the form of a CNC (computer numerical control) machine, the purpose of which is to provide the automated placement of various electronic components and parts onto a PCB (Printed Circuit Board). This machine is to be used in an educational setting. This design is being created for Mechanical Engineering Design (MIE243), a second-year Mechanical Engineering course offered at the University of Toronto. Throughout this document, there are details regarding the scope of the project, service environment, stakeholders, and important detailed requirements such as functions, objectives and constraints.
